Destiny 2 expansions are going to be a huge part of Bungie’s monetization plans going forward. Similar to Destiny, the sequel will also see a healthy flow of add-on content from the creators.
The recently announced Destiny 2 will release on September 8 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Bungie is also gearing up the game’s expansion packs which we now know will start hitting stores starting Fall 2017.
According to a FAQ page sent out to GameStop stores in the United States, Expansion I will release in Fall 2017. Expansion II on the other hand, is going to be available in Spring 2018.
We will be seeing more of Destiny in the coming weeks. But the expansions won’t be unveiled until after the release of the base game.
Destiny’s marketing campaign kicked off with a teaser trailer called the “Last Call.” Everyone’s favorite Cayde-6 is in Destiny 2, confirming the rumors flying around before the official announcement of the game. Cayde-6 was seen hanging out in a bar telling his story.
Later on Bungie also shared a CG trailer, once again featuring Cayde-6. The character appeared in the first game and is back for the second installment.
Players of the first game won’t just be able to experience Cayde-6, but they can also use their current Guardian character for Destiny 2.
While you won’t be able to transfer everything from Destiny to Destiny 2, players who have completed the Black Garden Story missions and are Level 20 or above can transfer their class, race, gender, face, hair, and markings.
