The new Hearthstone: Journey to Un’Goro Hearthstone expansion will be releasing next week, and will also be marking the end of the game’s Year of the Kraken and the beginning of the Year of the Mammoth. The expansion will give players 135 new cards, including new types of cards called “Quest Cards”.
The Hearthstone: Journey to Un’Goro expansion will take players on a jungle safari to the Un’Goro region, an area of Azeroth teeming with dinosaurs, earth elementals, and more. The 135 cards that are going to be coming out with the expansion will likely be more than enough to fill in the gaps left behind by other cards, and the Quest Cards may be the biggest change.
Quest Cards are a card that will give you a quest-like requirement during a game, such as playing seven different Deathrattle minions in a single game. Fulfilling these requirements will grant you a very powerful minion. Each class has a card of their own, with its own reward.
Other cards have the “Adapt” ability, which allows you to boost a certain quality of theirs.
These can range from health, to attack power, to a divine shield or giving the minion taunt to help block attacks against you.
Cards like these and the quest cards will likely help to shake up the meta that Hearthstone has been stuck in for the past few months, along with maybe getting people interested in the game again.
With the Year of the Mammoth coming up, cards from the League of Explorers, Grand Tournament, and Blackrock Mountain adventures and expansions will be rotating out of the Standard category. Cards from One Night In Karazhan, Mean Streets of Gadgetzan, and The Old Gods will remain for the time being.
Hearthstone: Journey To Un’Goro will become available on April 6, next Thursday, on PC, Mac OSX, and mobile platforms.
