Destiny 2 Trailer Analysis, Everything You Need to Know
Destiny 2 has been officially revealed by Bungie with a brand new CG trailer in which Commander Zavala returns alongside with Cayde-6 and give us a little bit background on the premise.
Here we will give a complete rundown of everything we know so far about Destiny 2 by dissecting the improtant parts of the trailer and will give you a complete rundown of the things you need to know about Destiny 2, its story, gameplay reveal, the beta and more. If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, then check it out over here.
Judging from the trailer it seems that Bungie is focusing more on Story in Destiny 2 which is a very good step despite we are yet to see the gameplay.
Players might be attracted to Destiny 2 because of the story as there were many who considered the Destiny lackluster in terms of story and the single player campaign was sort of a letdown.
In Destiny 2 the Last City is under attack and has been burned to the ground by Cabal led by the mysterious evil alien named Ghaul. It will be the player’s job to reunite humanity and fight back.
While we don’t know anything about Ghaul but he seems to be a very good strategist given that he leveled the tower and the city which itself is very well defended.
Humanity’s last safe city has fallen to an overwhelming invasion force led by Ghaul, the imposing commander of the brutal Red Legion. He has stripped the city’s Guardians of their power, and forced the survivors to flee. You will venture to mysterious, unexplored worlds of our solar system to discover an arsenal of weapons and devastating new combat abilities. To defeat the Red Legion and confront Ghaul, you must reunite humanity’s scattered heroes, stand together, and fight back to reclaim our home.
While the trailer for Destiny 2 was completely CGI, but Bungie has scheduled the gameplay reveal for the game. According to Bungie, players will get to see the gameplay for Destiny 2 on May 18.
The reveal will not be a trailer but a live stream instead so expect Bungie to bring out its big guns. The only downside to this whole gameplay reveal situation is that May 18 is over a month away from now.
The Expansion Pass
The expansion for Destiny 2 will give access to two Expansions that will add brand new story missions, co-op missions, multiplayer content, a ton new weapons, armor, and gear.
There will be closed Beta for Destiny 2 this summer and those who pre-order the game will be invited to the closed beta. However, there will be an open beta and obviously, everyone will be able to participate in it.
The trailer for Destiny 2 gives us an answer as to why the Destiny’s loot won’t be carried over to the sequel. In in the trailer, we see all of the guns getting destroyed in the attack.
However, there will be a ton of loot to collect in Destiny as according to Cayde-6 himself “There will be a ton of loot”.
In my opinion, player’s loot not transferring to the sequel is okay, because if it did then it would defeat the purpose, as you will have high-end gear in the start of Destiny 2.
Bungie has already confirmed that only the characters will be carried over to Destiny 2 and that’s just about it, and it is nice to see it explained in the trailer that Ghaul has taken everything and it is time to fight back.
