The Witcher Franchise Has Sold Over 25 Million Since Its Inception
CD ProJek Red has summarized its financial results for 2016 and it seems that the company had a very good year financially and also revealed the cumulative sales number for the entire The Witcher franchise.
According to CD Projekt Red, the Witcher franchise has sold over 25 million copies since the launch of the first game in the series.
Furthermore, The CD PROJEKT Group reported 584 million PLN in total revenue and 251 million PLN was the net profit for the company. Also, the company reported that The Witcher 3 and its expansion packs brought in 1 billion PLN in revenue.
Recently, CD Projekt Red talked about the inception of The Witcher franchise. According to Marcin Iwiński, the co-founder of CD Projekt Red, revealed that the company was started as games distributor but wanted to enter the game development scene.

Currently, CD Projekt Red is working on the upcoming Sci-Fi RPG, Cyberpunk 2077. According to the studio, Cyberpunk 2077 will be a bigger success than The Witcher 3.
While Cyberpunk 2077 still doesn’t have a release date but is expected to launch in 2018 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
