AMD Ryzen Performance Update Released For Ashes of the Singularity
AMD Ryzen 7 came out recently and it took a beating by critics for the 1080p performance that it was able to achieve.
AMD took this into consideration and promised that there would be updates coming up that would better optimize the CPUs. Now there is an update and we have Ashes of the singularity benchmarks to show the performance boost.
AMD talked about how the company needs developers to optimize games for the AMD Ryzen platform. AMD has been out of the game for so long that this issue was bound to come around as AMD has come back with the AMD Ryzen series of CPUs.
Ashes of the Singularity is the first title to get optimization for AMD Ryzen. Lets take a look a the performance boost the new, optimized version of Ashes of the Singularity has to offer.
The following hardware has been used in order to test AMD Ryzen with the new Ashes of the Singularity build:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700 processor
- Motherboard: MSI X370 Xpower Gaming Titanium
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 4000MHz DDR4
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 8GB Founders Edition
- PSU: Corsair AX860i digital power supply
- Cooling: Corsair Hydro Series H110i water cooler
- Storage: Corsair Force MP500 480GB PCIe SSD
AMD Ryzen Performance Boost In Ashes of the Singularity
In the old build we saw that the average FPS was in the high 60s in normal batches but with the new build we see that number increased to the high 80s. Talking about medium batches in the older build we see an average FPS in the mid 60s but in the new build it has been boosted to high 70s and even 80s.
Overall at 1080p we see a performance boost of 26%, at 1440p we see a performance boost of 31% and at 4K resolution we see a performance boost of 22.7%. These are some impressive numbers and I hope that other games will also be optimized for Ryzen in the future.
This is a significant boost in performance and we can see that if games are optimized for AMD Ryzen then this can give Ryzen a great performance boost. This means that AMD’s claims were legit and that is no surprise looking at how games have been optimized with Intel CPUs in mind all this time.
Let us know what you think about this boost in performance that Ashes of the Singularity gets when it is optimized for AMD Ryzen.
