PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Beginner’s Guide – Tips and Strategies
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Beginner’s Guide to help you learn about some of the game’s basic concepts along with some general tips and strategies to help you out.
In PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, around 100 players land from a plane while searching weapons, resources, and other supplies. During the search, they come across each other and fight for their survival.
All this time, an electric field closes in which damages anyone caught in it. Players are given the liberty of traveling on foot and vehicles to move from one area to another. Eventually, players are drawn closer to each other where they must survive to win.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Beginner’s Guide
In our PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Beginner’s Guide, we’ve detailed everything you need to know about understanding the game’s basic concepts along with some tips and strategies to help you out!
Falling from the Plane
After ejecting from the plane, you can adjust the angle to fall quickly but it isn’t recommended. Since a lot players tend to do this, the landing zone immediately turns into a battle zone. Therefore, instead of freefalling to the ground, I recommend looking for a distant land to scavenge resources and avoid the early competition.
While falling, I also recommend taking advantage of the freelook to see distant parachutes. Using this feature, you should easily be able to spot the place where you intend to land and avoid potential competition with other players.
Another thing that you can do is to press ‘W’ repeatedly in order to increase the distance of your jump. Finally, your parachute will automatically open when you’re near the ground but you can also open it manually.
After landing, the first thing that you need to do is to find supplies and add them to your inventory. Loot, in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, is everywhere i.e. out in the open, inside houses, near buildings, etc.
You should easily be able to find loot from the glow. Once you’ve found it, press the Tab button to view everything that you can loot and press right-click to add everything in your inventory. You can collect each item individually but this method is quicker.
Examine Every Piece of Gear
Even if you’ve a particular piece of gear, don’t let it prevent you from examining its duplicate. Gear, in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, come in three levels which is why you should try and make a habit of examining every piece of gear.
In addition to this, another thing that you need to look for is durability. As a general rule of thumb, you should always go for the armor that offer more durability even if it’s low-leveled.
Helmets Can Save Your Life!
It goes without saying but helmets in the game can definitely save your life. If an enemy manages to score a headshot and you’ve a helmet on, chances are that you’ll live to tell the tale.
Long story short; don’t undermine the importance of helmets and always put them on; especially if you have Level 3 Helmets.
Use Buildings to Set Up Baits
Another little thing that you should try and do most of the times is to close doors. Closed doors, in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, usually signify an unexplored building which is what you need to take advantage of!
While you’re inside a building, you constantly need to check your flanks rely on sounds. If an enemy is about to open a door and come in, be prepared! As the title suggests, you can also close/open doors to set up baits or waste someone’s time – at the very least!
Red Zones are a No-No
Red zones in the game represent an area which is about to get bombarded. It goes without saying that you won’t die from these bombs hundred percent of the times but why risk it? Try to avoid heading into red zones as much as possible!
General Tips and Strategies
- You should consider having a couple of smoke grenades for the late game
- The wave damage increases after the electric field stops at its next position
- While you’re inside building, try to avoid using ADS view for maximum visions
- Continue to switch between 1st person and 3rd person as you see fit for maximum efficiency
- While using proximity loot, try to move as much as possible in order to avoid receiving damage
- While using bandages/boosts, try to move as much as possible in order to avoid being an easy target
- In the late game, you need to avoid engaging as much as possible in order to avoid giving away your position
