2017 is a big year for Microsoft as the company will fully reveal and launch Xbox One Scorpio. However, many fans are worried about the launch games for the console and Xbox head has said that having first-party games ready for Xbox One Scorpio is critical.
While replying to a fan on Twitter who asked if Xbox One Scorpio will have any launch titles? Spencer said that “Having our [first-party] games ready for Scorpio is critical”.
Phil Spencer might be referring to the Xbox One’s first-party titles to be updated for the upcoming console, which would also make sense as Microsoft would want to have its first party titles to be updated for Xbox One Scorpio.
However, there are some third-party games that will be patched for the upcoming console. Recently, Todd Howard, the director and executive producer at Bethesda confirmed that Skyrim and Fallout 4 will be patched to Project Scorpio.
We just wrapped up updating Fallout 4 for the PS4 Pro. We’re used to that in the PC world. We can update the games, and people keep playing it. Microsoft’s Scorpio is coming next year, and we’ll update Fallout 4 and Skyrim for that. That’s our hope, that these consoles keep that spirit going forward. It’s also the pride of ownership. I like browsing my library of games. Whether it’s on the shelf physically or digitally, that’s all my stuff. And I don’t want to feel like I could lose it, or it has no value, other than sitting there.
Also, Warner Bros has confirmed that Shadow Of War will be available for Project Scorpio when it launches.
Xbox One Scorpio is expected to be revealed at this year’s E3 and Microsoft has been marketing the console as native 4K capable with 6 TFLOPs of computational power.
