Quantic Dream Shows a Glimpse of Detroit Become Human Development
Detroit Become Human is a neo-noir thriller video game for PlayStation 4 in development at Quantic Dream. It was announced during the Paris Games Week 2015, becoming one of the most anticipated games of the current generation of consoles.
Devs, unfortunately, haven’t shared too much information on the title besides its plot. The story focuses on multiple android characters; among them we find Kara, who escapes the factory she was made in, and Connor, whose aim is hunting deviant androids like her.
However, the studio has finally decided to show us something related to the game, sharing a video taken on its set. In the video we can see a group of angry people screaming, most likely against the aforementioned androids.
Quantic Dream is famous for both the quality of stories and graphics in their games. Titles like Heavy Rain have pushed the hardware of PlayStation 3 to its limit, and the same will happen with Detroit Become Human, says boss David Cage.
We wanted to push the limits with Detroit and have an engine that would offer us more features regarding cinematography in particular. So we wanted to work on realistic lighting, especially. So we developed an entirely new engine from scratch pretty much.
Cage has also discussed the script of the game. According to him, it took almost two years – working around six days a week – to finish it; it’s considered more complex than anything ever done by the team.
But will the game live up to people expectations?
