Last year we Forza Horizon 3 launched for PC and Xbox One which was a critical and financial success. However, Microsoft is yet to reveal any new Forza game and it seems that the next title in the Forza franchise has been leaked.
The leak comes from Reddit where a user posted an image of Forza X which seems to be showcased during some sort of presentation.
However, it is important to mention that Microsoft is yet to announce any upcoming Forza game so take this leak as a grain of salt as it may very well be a fake.
The next title in the Forza series might be from Turn 10 studios as Forza Horizon developer, Playground Studios, is currently working on a non-racing title.
Playground Games is currently looking to increase its workforce to work on a game codenamed “Project 2”. According to founder and creative director, Ralph Fulton, the team has become quite good at developing racing games but they want to prove themselves in a different genre.
We feel like we’ve become pretty good at racing games over the years. We can always strive to get better but we’d love to prove ourselves in a different genre. That’s another goal of Project 2, to allow us to do that. We’re going to need to hire some very talented people with experience that we don’t have.
However, the studio has clarified that while it will be developing a non-racing title the studio has no intention of abandoning the Forza franchise, as it is the “cornerstone” for the studio.
In related news, the sales for the entire Forza series has passed $1 billion since its debut and this figure does not even include the digital sales.
