Summer is upon us and with it a number of new game releases and the biggest gaming event of the year, E3 2017. However, there are many of us, like me, who are yet to play a plethora of games already out. For people like us, GameStop is considering a season pass.
Yes, GameStop’s season pass!
The company sent out surveys to its users and within the survey, there is mention of “GameStop Summer Gaming Pass.” On paper, it sounds good and we can expect value from this season pass. Yes, I used GameStop and value in the same sentence.
Here’s what this is all about.
The $99 GameStop season pass owners will get access to an unlimited number of pre-owned games. You can take a copy, keep it as long as you want, play it for as long as you want, and trade it within the valid period. Your membership will last for the entirety of the summer, 3 months I believe.
For $99.99 you can take home any pre-owned game for the platform of your choice. Play it as much as you want for as long as you want, or trade it in for another pre-owned game at any time – all summer long. At the end of the summer, keep the game you’re playing as our gift to you – no need to bring it back into the store. It’s our way of saying “thanks for being a loyal Gamestop gamer
The value is there but it would be even better if we had another month or two added for members. Still, if GameStop actually goes through with it, we can expect some positive feedback from the community.
