Gaming is expensive and gaming hardware is even more costly. There is a large part of the community that us using mid-range or low-end PCs, me being one of them. Not all games run well on our systems and we often find ourselves looking for games that are playable and run well on our hardware.
To make your life a little easier as well as mine, I compiled a list of games from different genres that are playable on low-end PCs.
Best Games to Play on Low-End PCs
10 – DOTA 2
DOTA is one of the most played games across the globe and it is partly due to its really low system requirements. You do not need a super PC to run the game. DOTA 2 can manage a decent experience on anything above a potato PC.
9 – LINE OF Sight
A first person shooter developed by BlackSpot Entertainment is available on Steam for free. It is a decent shooter, nothing special, but it does manage to run on a low-end PC. LINE OF SIGHT feels like a cheap knock-off of Modern Warfare and Counter Strike. Even some of the maps from Line of Sight resemble classics such as wetwork from Modern Warfare. But it’s free and runs on a low-end PC.
8 – Civilization V
Available on Steam, Civilization V is one of the best games I have ever played. It is a demanding game but it runs well on low-end PCs thanks to excellent optimization from Firaxis. I personally recommend picking this one up for your laptops or low-end PCs.
7 – Sleeping Dogs
You may have to tone down the settings all the way but the good news is that you still get a decent experience out of it. Roaming around Honk Kong isn’t as appealing visually after toning down the setting but it runs smoothly on lower tier hardware.
6 – MOBIUS FINAL FANTASY
Another great Final Fantasy game from Square Enix and one that doesn’t take much to run on PCs. You may not be able to ever play FFXV on PC, but MOBIUS FINAL FANTASY can help scratch that itch.
5 – Nier Automata
Nier Automata recently released on PC and it a great game to have in your library. It is one of the rare new games are playable on low-end PCs. Pick it up right!
4 – Minecraft
Minecraft pretty much runs on anything, even a potato PC.
3 – Skyrim
The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim looks intimidating but it doesn’t take much to run. It is the perfect RPG game for low-end PCs and laptops.
2 – Grand Theft Auto San Andreas
The best Grand Theft Auto game to ever release is also a very less demanding game. It runs smoothly on low-end PCs and laptops. A butter smooth experience for all types of PCs.
1 – Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is the most loved Battlefield game of all time. Great single player mode and an even better multiplayer experience. Great optimization for low-end PCs.
