With Mass Effect Andromeda due to come out next week, the game’s other major mode has also started getting information dumps. The Mass Effect Andromeda multiplayer content that’s going to be coming out alongside the game will be full of content on release. It will include 5 different maps, and 25 different characters.
Mass Effect 3’s own multiplayer launched with a small number of maps and characters available, but more were added through free DLC. Considering Andromeda’s multiplayer will have free post-launch updates added periodically, we may get more maps and characters as Andromeda’s lifespan stretches out.
The Mass Effect Andromeda multiplayer content already allows you to play every major race in the game (barring the kett, most likely, unless BioWare has something up its sleeve), including humans, turians, asari, krogan, and angara. Players will be fighting across a number of firebases set up across Andromeda, against multiple waves of enemies that escalate in difficulty.
Players will be able to share equipment between their classes, so no one class is restricted to a certain role. This means you can have your adept wielding a shotgun, or your soldier using a pistol. All of these weapons will also be divided into Milky Way, Heleus Cluster, and Remnant categories, technology groups that will be key to victory.
All of the Mass Effect Andromeda multiplayer content means that there’ll be a ton of different ways you can play and customize your playstyle, and considering how much support BioWare gave Mass Effect 3, there will only be more options. We’ll likely get new weapons, new maps, new species to choose as characters, and more customization options.
In the meantime, Mass Effect Andromeda comes out on March 21 in North America and March 23 in Europe, on the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC. If you want to start now, and are a part of EA Access, you can take part in the early access program and play up to ten hours in the game.
