There is an ongoing debate over the implementation of DRM and not all gamers are happy with its implementation. Some consider the DRM as a way to protect developer’s hard work and some see it hinderance towards the ownership of a game. However, not all developers are keen on using the DRM, as Focus Home Interactive has announced that there will be no DRM for Styx Shards Of Darkness.
Focus Home Interactive announced it on a Steam forum, confirming that Styx Shards Of Darkness will be free of DRM.
Currently, Denuvo DRM is quite popular among developers as it has been used for a number of AAA games such as Far Cry Primal, Resident Evil 7 and more.
Please note that we always position our Anti-Tamper solution as hard to crack, not as uncrackable. So far only one piracy group has been able to bypass it.
Denuvo marketing director Thomas Goebl added that they will keep on working to improve the Denuvo DRM for the software’s future version. He said that the team will learn from this and will do the same.
This is not the first time this anti-tamper solution has been bypassed as previously DOOM 2016 and Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, which used this anti-tamper solution, got cracked.
