The HyperX Cloud Revolver S is the latest gaming headset from the American peripheral manufacturer to hit the competitive market.
Announced today as an upgrade over the HyperX Cloud Revolver, one of the key differentials of the S variant is its support for virtual Dolby Surround 7.1 audio. The feature is simple plug-and-play and does not require the installation of any software beforehand, thanks to the inclusion of a little USB dongle.
The Digital Signal Processing sound card boosts audio and enhances noise cancellation for an optimized gaming experience. It also allows the comfort of toggling Dolby Surround, muting and adjusting microphone and output levels right from the “clippable” control box.
“The HyperX Cloud Revolver S headset is our best gaming headset yet—simply plug it in and one click later Dolby quality surround sound is on,” says HyperX audio business manager Tyler Needles. “Combining the perfect balance of audio performance and comfort, Cloud Revolver S will immerse listeners in a cinema quality audio experience.”
The HyperX Cloud Revolver S is aimed at professional gaming and esports enthusiasts who are inclined to be wearing headsets for long periods of time. The new peripheral boasts premium comfort levels with a wider headband and the company’s signature memory foam. In addition, a solid-steel frame ensures durability and reliability.
A detachable noise-cancelling microphone is said to be certified by TeamSpeak and Discord, and will face no compatibility issues when used for various voice-over-IP programs such as Skype, RaidCall, Mumble, etc.
