Naughty Dog’s Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, an expansion to Uncharted 4, has managed to stay fairly under the radar ever since it was revealed at the Playstation Experience.
Now, however, Naughty Dog has gone into detail on how they’re changing the formula to work with the new setting and main character.
The Lost Legacy centers around Uncharted character Chloe, who is on a mission with the character Nadine to find an artifact called the Tusk of Ganesh.
Unfortunately, their mission is made a lot more complicated now that India is in the middle of a brutal civil war.
Uncharted 4’s main draw was being able to tell a linear story across a variety of big, open-ended environments. The Lost Legacy, however, will be more self-contained.
Limited to one location, the story will be focusing more on Chloe and her relationship with Nadine and other characters in the story. While Uncharted did have amazing writing, Naughty Dog is looking more a more personal story, without as grand a scope.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will also be giving Naughty Dog a chance to try new things, and keep fans interested in them while they work on The Last Of Us 2, along with other things they might be developing in the meantime.
Considering all the epic set pieces that the regular Uncharted 4 game did, anything that Naughty Dog will likely be trying in The Lost Legacy will hopefully be just as good.
With the setting the way it is, there are likely going to be more than a few interesting set pieces that Chloe and Nadine will have to work their way through.
While there isn’t any concrete release date yet about when Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will release on Playstation 4 and Playstation 4 Pro, hopefully when Naughty Dog releases it, it will be worth the wait.
