Expected to launch this year, Sony seems to be starting the hype train for Gran Turismo Sport with a recent trailer to announce partnership with Tag Heuer.
The Swiss watch company will be the Sony exclusive game’s official timekeeper and to celebrate this partnership, Sony has not only released a new trailer for Gran Turismo Sport but the trailer is also optimized for HDR displays.
The trailer showcases the visual quality fans can expect from the PS4 and PS4 exclusive which is currently expected to release this year although without any confirmed release window.
On the 8th of March 2017, at the TAG Heuer booth at the 87th Geneva International Motor Show, it was announced that TAG Heuer would be the official timekeeper for Gran Turismo Sport. TAG Heuer will appear as the official timekeeper and official watch of Gran Turismo Sport in all areas of the game, and TAG Heuer’s Live Timing technology will be used to provide players with an experience that’s just the same as real motor racing.
Alongside the trailer, a new batch of screenshots was also released that also includes Tag Heuer logo on banners around the race tracks.
Gran Turismo Sport was originally scheduled for a 2016 release but then later delayed to an unconfirmed date in 2017. The developers apparently needed more time, probably to work on the PS4 Pro version of the game.
With this sudden influx of information, including yesterday’s trailer featuring Fittipaldi EF7, it seems like the game is almost ready and won’t be delayed to next year.
In late January, developers Polyphony Digital also showcased the PS4 Pro version of the game during Taipei Game Show. Among the features confirmed for the Pro version, HDR and 4K@60FPS via checkerboard rendering is confirmed.
Hopefully, more details regarding the launch of Gran Turismo Sport will be revealed at E3 2017.
