Metal Gear Solid Movie Director Talks Characters And Fourth Wall Breaking In The Movie
Metal Gear Solid movie has been in development for over a decade and after years of silence on the project, many assumed that the project is dead, until recently director Jordan Vogt-Roberts assured that the movie is in development.
Now the director has revealed a bit more about the characters in the movie and what he feels should be included in the movie. According to Jordan Vogt-Roberts, he won’t make a Metal Gear Solid movie in which there is no Cyborg Ninja.
I’m a big Sniper Wolf fan and when we were sitting down to think about the script at a certain point it was like, ‘is Cyborg Ninja in this movie or not?’ and the part of me that was a little kid was like, ‘there’s no world in which I’m ever going to make a Metal Gear movie that Cyborg Ninja is not going to be in.’ It’s really easy to be like, ‘it’s a good character to save for the second one,’ but no, no, no.
He further talked about the possibility of fourth wall breaking in the movie but said that to him it is less important compared to “walking philosophies and ideologies” of characters.
To me, the fourth wall breaking is a little less important than the walking philosophies and ideologies those characters represent, and getting that right and the tone right and things like that. If breaking the fourth wall makes sense, I’m all for it, [but] I’m more interested in the ‘Kojima conversations’ about whatever song came out then or whatever – it’s that stuff that it just absolutely needs.
Also, there is a rumor making rounds on the internet that Hideo Kojima himself is writing the script for the movie.
It is still unknown when the Metal Gear Solid movie will go into production but one thing is for sure that fans are excited about it.
