Runes in the LoZ: BotW are basically magical tools that you can use via your Sheikah Slate. The runes are capable of performing many different functions and are essential to solve puzzles found inside shrines, to find chests hidden in the open-world, and more.

Cryonis Rune

Location: Found inside Keh Namut Shrine of Trials

This rune allows you to build ice pillars from water, mud, etc. You can use it to access otherwise inaccessible areas and solve various puzzles.

Magnesis Rune

Location: Found inside Oman Au Shrine of Trials

This rune allows you to grab metallic objects and pull/move them freely. You can use it to pull metallic chests out of the water.

Remote Bomb

Location: Found inside Ja Baij Shrine of Trials

The bombs come in two shapes i.e. round and square. Depending on the situation at hand, you can use these bombs to deal damage to monsters and destroy weak objects/walls.

Stasis Rune

Location: Found inside Owa Daim Shrine of Trials

This rune allows you to stop an object while it retains its momentum. Upon release, the object can be moved which is otherwise impossible. You can use it to move large boulders to reveal hidden chests and even solve puzzles.
