Zelda: Breath of the Wild Hylian Shield Location Guide: How To Find Link’s Iconic Shield
Hylian Shield, the most iconic shield in the Legend of Zelda franchise which has been shown in the art work for pretty much every game is once again back in Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. However, this iconic shield is very well hidden and not easy to come by.
Nor should it be considering its part of the Unbreakable gear set and goes along with the Master Sword to complete Link’s iconic look. This Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Hylian Shield location guide will help players in tracking down this amazing gear piece and the best way to acquire it.
Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Hylian Shield
The shield itself is located inside the Hyrule Castle which is pretty much the toughest area in the game and the last dungeon. Thankfully, players don’t have to actually complete the rest of the game to go for the shield and can venture to the castle as soon as they complete the tutorial and enter the wide open world.
Once as the Hyrule Castle, players need to head towards its back by looping around the castle until they are on the hills behind it. There will be a broken bridge near the castle’ back and players have to get to the west side of the bridge. Another marker to look for at this stage are some luminous stones in the distance.
From the broken bridge, players need to jump down and glide until they reach those luminous stones. Just before those stones would be a platform that spirals towards the water and gliding to that platform should be pretty easy. At the top of this spiral platform will be a Guardian which can be a pretty significant challenge so it is best to avoid it until players have leveled up quite a bit.
Once at the top of the ramp and facing the guardian, players should run past it through the door and enter the castle, avoiding damage from the Guardian. As soon as players enter the door, they should hug the nearest wall to avoid the Guardian and reset it.
Once the Guardian goes back to its place, players can proceed further towards a gate in front of them. A Cryonis Rune can be used to lift up the gate so players can go through it. Players will enter a prison area after passing through the gate and there will be a lot of enemies locked in cells.
At the end of this area will be a side room which the players can enter to wake up a skeletal boss, Stalnox. Players need to defeat Stalnox in order to proceed and the best way to do that is by targeting its eye with ranged attacks until it falls and then hitting it with the sword. An upgraded Stasis Rune can also prove useful by freezing it in one location and making it easier to hit the eye.
If players have already acquired the Master Sword, this fight should be even easier as the weapon gets double attack power inside the Hyrule Castle. Once Stalnox has fallen, a loot chest will spawn which contains the Hylian Shield.
