The game is scheduled to release for Nintendo Switch only, but things may change according to Capcom.
During an interview with IGN, producer Yoshinori stated that the game might not remain a Switch exclusive if it sells well.
If Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers sells extremely well we’ll consider it. We put a lot of thought into how this can be fully enjoyed on the Nintendo Switch, so it’s only going to be on Switch for now.
Ono then talked about the reasons for bringing back such a glorious chapter on a Nintendo platform. Capcom hasn’t released any Street Fighter chapter on Nintendo console since Super Street Fighter 4 on Nintendo 3DS, and the team wanted to release a game that was reminiscent of the good old days of the franchise.
We tried to think on what we can do to bring Street Fighter back to Nintendo’s consoles. Considering how Nintendo caters to a wide audience of players, we wanted to go back to our roots. We thought that Street Fighter 2 would be the right choice, instead of bringing you a new game that would have a more complicated system.
