Many are amazed by Horizon: Zero Dawn because of the greatness of its environments and the quality of the narrative. The world in this game is huge and there are a lot of things to do and discover. As a matter of fact, most of the mysteries found in this game haven’t been solved and they could reappear in the Horizon: Zero Dawn sequel, according to Guerrilla Games.
This topic was discussed by writer John Gonzelez during an interview with Level Up as he said:
There are some other mysteries that will appear, there are events that the player will not understand and we did that because we did not want to take away the sense of mystery of this world because it would have felt small and simple.
We wanted there was always something more that would invite you to ask ‘what else is there out there?’ There are many untold stories in the game and which we have in documents. Many things that happened in the past, who knows if in at some point these stories will come to light.
But that’s not the only thing that’s set to change in the franchise.
Even if the Horizon: Zero Dawn sequel development hasn’t started yet, Guerrilla has already discussed the possibility of a new protagonist.
According to them, there are a lot of characters and tribes that the team has spent months developing, and everyone of them has what it takes to become the protagonist of the game.
Anyhow, Guerrilla wants to take their time to create the second chapter of the series, so don’t expect to see Horizon: Zero Dawn 2 launch soon.
Horizon: Zero Dawn is an open world action RPG game developed by Guerrilla Games for PlayStation 4 only.
