Middle Earth Shadow of War Confirmed for PlayStation 4 Pro and Project Scorpio

Update: Project Scorpio and Windows 10 are under the Xbox Play Anywhere program which means buying Shadow of War for one will land you the other copy for free.

Original StoryMiddle Earth Shadow of War was announced yesterday by WB and Monolith Productions. The game is taking us back to Mordor that is as savage as a place can be. We already know that Shadow of War is releasing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, however, what about PlayStation 4 Pro and Project Scorpio?

Yes, Shadow of War is coming to PlayStation 4 Pro and Project Scorpio as well. According to the official announcement made by the studio, both platforms with get their own enhanced versions of Shadow of War. PlayStation 4 Pro and Project Scorpio players will enjoy the great visual benefits that come with buying the top tier machines.

Compared to the base model, Middle Earth Shadow of War on PlayStation 4 and Project Scorpio will look much better. We don’t know if Project Scorpio will output native 4K but we can be sure that PlayStation 4 Pro won’t be able to. It will once again use the checkerboard technique and HDR to provide near 4K results.

Middle Earth Shadow of War is releasing on August 22.

On a related subject, it has now been confirmed that Shadow of War is a Xbox Play Anywhere game. You only need to play $59.99 to play the standard version on both Xbox One and Windows 10. It would be interesting to see if Xbox Play Anywhere program also includes Project Scorpio games as well.

It would not be wise to sideline Project Scorpio from the Xbox Play Anywhere program.
