Epic Games is known for developing the groundbreaking Gears Of War series and the Unreal Engine, however, lately the studio has been very silent about its projects. Now the studio has revealed that it has been working on Six projects.
Speaking with VentureBeat, Epic’s creative director Donald Mustard said that Epic Games has been working on six games which include Fortnite for PC, a new version of Unreal Tournament and the free-to-play game Paragon.
The studio has also partnered with JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot studio for a PC and mobile title called Spyjinx. Furthermore, Epic Games is also working on an Oculus-funded virtual reality game called Robo Recall and a tactical RPG for mobile and PC called Battle Breakers.
Tim Sweeney, Epic Games CEO, added that the studio is determined to go back to its roots which is working without any interference from any publisher.
We are determined to go back to our roots and go directly to users without publisher relationships. The friction that is there. It’s so much better to operate a game live and change it in response to consumer feedback. Paragon has changed so much in response. it’s a continual dialogue. It’s like going back to the days when we first started. That’s what epic is all about.
Epic Games has also partnered with Nintendo for the upcoming Nintendo Switch. However, the studio is yet to announce that whether or not it is working on a game for the hybrid console but the studio has revealed that they have added Nintendo Switch support in Unreal Engine 4.
