There have been numerous rumors in the past that Shadow Of Mordor sequel is in the works and now a leak has emerged on the internet that seemingly confirms its existence.
According to the listing on Target’s international website(via NeoGaf), the Shadow Of Mordor Sequel is titled, Shadow Of War, and the listing also showcased the box art for the game.
According to the description, Talion, protagonist of the first game, will return along with Celebrimbor, who are trying to forge another ring that’s as powerful as Sauron’s. Also, the nemesis system is making comeback along with new stronghold mechanics.
Go behind enemy lines to forge your army, conquer Fortresses, and dominate Mordor from within. Experience how the award-winning Nemesis System creates unique personal stories with every enemy and follower, and confront the full power of the Dark Lord Sauron and his Ringwraiths in this epic new story of Middle-earth.
The listing only leaked the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game, which is surprising since the first game also launched for PC. According to the leak, Shadow Of Mordor sequel will launch on August 22, 2017, however, there is high chance that it was just a placeholder.
The listing also leaked the Gold Edition for Shadow Of War which includes:
- Slaughter Tribe Nemesis Expansion
- Outlaw Tribe Nemesis Expansion
- The Blade of Galadriel Story Expansion
- The Desolation of Mordor Story Expansion
- Gold War Chest
- Over $125 in total value
The Nemesis expansions will introduce “a new Orc Tribe featuring new enemies, followers, missions, abilities, weapons, Fortress, and wilderness updates, and a Mythic Gear Set”. The story expansion will add a new campaign, playable character, and abilities, side missions, enemies, allies, and more.
Given that the retailer has so much material ready it is possible that Warner Bros might be revealing the game in coming weeks.
