There are basically two types of Horizon Zero Dawn Watchers. As the name suggests, these robots work like roaming sentries that alert every nearby robot to your presence. Due to this, it’s a good idea to deal with them as quickly as possible.

Here are Watchers attacks to watch out for:

Blinding Stun Flash: This attack is a blinding attack as the name suggests and will temporarily blind a human enemy but it is ineffective against machines.

Jumping Smash: It is a melee type of attack with 90 damage, during this attack the watcher will jump on the enemy and smash them; keep in mind that you have the opportunity to counter-attack it.

Energy Blast: This one is an explosion type attack with 40 damage, the watcher will fire energy projectiles at the enemy and will use this attack when he cannot use melee attacks.

Tail Strike: This is the most dangerous melee attack from the watcher, this is basically a short range bludgeon tail attack with 100 damage.

Head Strike: This one is a melee attack with 90 damage and the watcher will jump on its enemy like jumping smash but will use his head to strike.

They have three challenge levels 5, 12(corrupted) and 14(daemonic) with HP of 90, 135 and 158 respectively.

Watchers in HZD have the tendency to observe and scan the environment for potential threats. Upon finding a threat, a Watcher immediately alerts all the nearby machines, either forcing you to retreat or die outnumbered.

Due to this, you need to make sure that you get rid of them as early as possible.

When it comes to offense, Watchers lack in weaponry but make up for it with a charging attack. These machines can also tackle you which is why you need to maintain a safe distance. Last but not the least, the Watchers also have a laser attack.

However, you should easily be able to see a distinct blue eye which serves as their weak point – hit it! In addition to normal Watchers, you’ll also come across Redeye Watchers.

These robots are exactly like Watchers, but are a tad tougher and have more damage output. Other than this, everything that holds true for Watchers also holds for the Redeye Watchers.
