Next Overwatch Hero Not Efi Oladele, Will Play Major Part in Story

Overwatch community is a very enthusiastic one as it never slips any clue for an upcoming hero or event. For past few days, Overwatch community has been busy finding the identity of the upcoming Overwatch hero and speculating that Efi Oladele will be the next Overwatch hero.

However, after so much speculation, game director, Jeff Kaplan has more or less sent fans back to square one. Jeff Kaplan confirmed to Polygon that Efi Oladele is not the next hero but will play a part in the story of the next Overwatch hero. So the identity of the next overwatch hero is still unconfirmed.

Previously is was speculated that Doomfist will be the next hero for the game, but Jeff Kaplan clarified that he won’t be. After that Blizzard published a fictional interview of Efi Oladele and the community again began speculating that she might be the next hero.

Also, it is speculated that the next hero for Overwatch might be a Greek character. The CV of Greek actor Alex Malaos is the main evidence. While the CV has been taken down, the actor listed a role for Overwatch, produced by Blizzard, under the direction of Kaplan.

The character is currently titled “Greek” but it makes sense since Overwatch maps have associations with characters.
