Horizon Zero Dawn Leveling

Be the Completionist

Horizon Zero Dawn features a ton of activities aside from the Main Quests like Hunting Lodges, clearing Corrupted Zones, and other miscellaneous tasks. It goes without saying that completing the Main Quests is the most rewarding when it comes to earning XP.

However, you should try to complete as many side-activities as possible. In addition to this, you should try to keep track of all the available quests from the Journal which should allow you to see what you’re getting into.

Clearing Bandit Camps and Corrupted Zones also allow you to gain a considerable amount of XP. However, before tackling them, you should always pay attention to the Level Requirement.

If you try to tackle a higher level Corrupted Zone or Bandit Camp, it’ll only end in you being disappointed. Lastly, remember that by doing so, you’ll not only receive XP for individual eliminations but also for clearing the entire area.

Complete the Tutorials

Whenever you get your hands on a new piece of gear, you should be able to start a Tutorial Quest teaching you how to use your newly-acquired piece of gear effectively.

While it’s not necessary to complete these Tutorial Quests, completing them should allow you to get a handsome amount of XP. Therefore, try to complete as many of them as possible.

Be Versatile

While completing the aforementioned tasks, try to bring versatility into how you eliminate each enemy. It’s important to note that the way you kill an enemy affects the amount of XP you earn.

For example, if killing an enemy straight up rewards you with 100XP, killing the same enemy by using different status effects, stealth mechanics, etc. may reward you with 200XP or even more XP.

Due to this, it’s a good idea to experiment with different things while completing different objectives. In addition to this, there are certain skills which can grant you bonus XP for using the skills in combat.
