Halo Wars 2 released a day ago and if you have the disc copy of the game, at the back of box you will notice the system requirements section mentions a GTX 1080 Ti as Ultra requirement. In short, Halo Wars 2 teases the incoming Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.

Nvidia this year has hosted its own event at GDC for GTX 1080 Ti official release. This was later confirmed by io-tech website also. GDC convention is scheduled from February 27 to March 3. Don’t miss out the event!

The back side of Halo Wars 2 box mentions a GTX 1080 Ti graphics card for Ultra Requirements. Theoretically, GTX 1080 Ti will come close to TITAN X’s performance and will give max out in-game graphics options on most of the games.

The custom designed AIB versions of Nvidia’s GTX 1080Ti are expected to come out in the market sometime after the launch. Since the Geforce GTX 1080Ti will be slightly less in power than TITAN X, its price tag is expected to fall in the range of $750 to $900 at launch.

NVIDIA’s GTX 1080Ti Rumored Specs

  • GPU : GP102
  • Process : TSMC 16FF
  • Die size : 471mm²
  • Transistors : 12 Billion
  • SMs : 52
  • CUDA Cores : 3328
  • Core clock : ~1.5Ghz
  • Boost clock : ~1.6Ghz
  • Peak FP32 compute : 10.8 TFLOPs
  • Memory interface : 384-bit
  • Memory : 12GB GDDR5X
  • Bandwidth : 480GB/s
  • TDP – 250W

Titan X has 60 SMs, while we expect to see at least 52 SMs in 1080Ti. Titan X packs 11 teraflops, while the rumored specs of Nvidia’s GTX 1080Ti say it will have 10.8 teraflops. Overall, the specs of 1080ti are slightly lowered than Titan X, however, with Nvidia allowing its AIB partners to come up with their own versions of GTX 1080Ti, we will see overclocking variants that may outperform the Titan X.

The GTX 1080 Ti will be a graphics card that many PC enthusiasts would love to buy. Plus, it will be cheaper than TITAN X and it will come close to TITAN X performance. We look forward to Nvidia’s GDC convention 2017.
