Last week, Ubisoft released a new Watch Dogs 2 update that was designed to help prepare the way for the game’s story DLC, called Human Condition. This update, Watch Dogs 2 update 1.11, has now appeared to bear fruit, as players have started to uncover a mystery quest hidden in San Francisco for them to discover.

The quest focuses around a newcomer to the hacking scene in Watch Dogs 2. Known as “The Shuffler,” an urban legend apparently came to life as four teenagers attempting to find the Shuffler all went missing. The Shuffler has since been confirmed as real by Ubisoft social media, and has gotten players in a craze as they try to figure out more about this strange hacker. Players have been listening to the radio, checking every part of the city’s virtual scene, and even hacking the game and going into the code to try and find out the identity of The Shuffler.

But it appears that Watch Dogs 2 update 1.11 has gotten them stumped for now. Most players don’t even really have enough information to try and guess the identity of the Shuffler, and this is a community that, last September, solved a previous mystery in the game in a matter of days. Ubisoft may have figured out how to make a fairly good quest line that has kept people guessing for a while now.

With the Human Condition DLC coming tomorrow, players will likely have more of a chance to figure out The Shuffler’s true identity, but if they can’t, and Ubisoft keeps feeding out information like this, the Watch Dogs 2 community may have something to keep them busy and frantically looking for a long time after Watch Dogs 2 update 1.11 and its subsequent updates.

To see more, keep an eye out on the Human Condition DLC when it comes out tomorrow, and let’s see if anything advances the story.
