Bethesda’s 2015 Fallout Shelter for mobile devices was a huge success as the game reportedly has 50 million registered users since its launch on iOS and Android. Given this success, it seems that Bethesda is looking to get into the mobile game business as the company has teased its next mobile title.
Speaking with Gamespot, Bethesda Director Todd Howard talked about the success of Fallout Shelter and how the success of the game has encouraged the company to keep experimenting with mobile titles and confirmed that another mobile title from the company is in the works.
We loved making it so we were ecstatic when it was so successful. It kind of blew us away.
We do have another mobile project game that we thought about for a while. Based on the Shelter experience, we’re kind of rolling on something new.
Recently, Bethesda’s marketing executive, Pete Hines, revealed that Machine Games, the developer behind Wolfenstein The New Order, is working on something and can’t wait to show what it really is.
While he did not clearly state what the next project from Machine Games is, but the way he describes the game, we are positive that it is a Wolfenstein follow-up. Also, the sequel to the game was seemingly confirmed back in 2015 by a voice actor who voiced a character in the first game.
Also, Brian Bloom, the voice actor for everyone’s favorite part-Polish Nazi killer B. J. Blazkowicz, recently confirmed that a sequel is coming.
It would be interesting to see what Bethesda is planning for its next mobile title, but until they reveal it we can only speculate.
