Phil Spencer, the president of Xbox, has said that 2017 for Xbox will be one of the best and most exciting years for the Xbox community, saying that in addition to the launch of a new console, the community will also be seeing a great deal of new and exciting video games.
First off, the new console is going to be the Xbox One Scorpio, which will likely be coming out sometime late this year. Touted as the most powerful console ever (even possibly more powerful than the Playstation 4 Pro, which released last November but has been having difficulty with making its games perform well), the Scorpio promises to be around as powerful as a modern PC.
A wide variety of other games have also been slated to come out in 2017 for Xbox, many of which are going to be available for the Xbox Play Anywhere program, and will either be new properties or new chapters in a series. Examples of these include Crackdown 3, Sea of Thieves, State of Decay 2, We Happy Few, Astroneer, Everspace, and more. And that’s not even getting into the amount of games that are going to be coming out for the Xbox One’s backwards compatibility program, which has been getting a lot of games over the past few months, many of which have been extremely popular.
While most of the games that are coming soon still have yet to even be released or even get a release date beyond 2017, the year is indeed shaping up to be a pretty good one for Xbox, with a number of exclusive games that are highly anticipated titles getting ready to come out (especially with many of them having gotten alphas or demos released already).
What other games will be coming out in the rest of 2017 have yet to be seen or announced, but hopefully 2017 for Xbox is going to be a very good year.
