Ubisoft just released a new patch for Watch Dogs 2 which brought big fixes, new character customization items and prepared the game for the upcoming DLC. However, that is not all the patch does, as the patch has altered the game’s ending a bit that references to Watch Dogs 3 will be set in London.
The patch does not change the Watch Dogs 2 ending completely but adds a mysterious conversation to the game’s final cutscene which hints towards the possible Watch Dogs 3. This has got the gamers confused as normally the game’s ending do not get altered after the release.
Before we move ahead, a SPOILER ALERT is in order if you haven’t played the game and don’t want the ending spoiled then stop right here.
The ending remains the same as game’s protagonist Marcus successfully broadcast their message. However, before the player is sent back to the open-world an audio conversation plays between two mysterious figures. Atop of their conversation, there are coordinates that, when searched into Google Maps, points to Brixton area of London.
Since then the gamers are speculating that is it referencing a DLC for Watch Dogs 2 or Watch Dogs 3 set in London. However, the planned DLCs for Watch Dogs 2 are all set in San Francisco. So referencing non-U.S. location have the gamers confused.
Ubisoft told Kotaku that they wanted to add something extra at the end of the game to expand the game’s lore.
The production team wanted to include a little something extra at the end of the campaign to expand the Watch Dogs lore and hint at the potential future of DedSec.
Ubisoft did not give a straight forward answer and all we can do for now is speculate and wait for the devs to reveal what it really is.
