The next installment in the Destiny franchise from Bungie will be named Destiny 2: Forge of Hope.” According to report from an inside source, Destiny 2: Forge of Hope release is set for the fourth quarter of 2017. What’s more interesting is that Destiny 2 is coming to PC as well.
The report was posted on Reddit and mentioned the following:
The next installment in the DESTINY franchise will be revealed as ” Destiny II: Forge of Hope”.
Will be launching in Q4 2017 with an estimated window release of November 4th to November 18th.
The next installment will be launching on five platforms: PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox Scorpio (TBA) and PC.
Console Exclusivity will remain with PlayStation but the exclusive period will be reduced to 3 Months.
The game has a whole new engine built from the ground up with the ability for Bungie to rapidly create and ad new content to the world of Destiny.
Bungie is scheduling for an event release every 1-2 months centering around a theme similar to Overwatch while also delivering new narrative paths and new gameplay mechanics.
The story of the game will revolve around chronological events set after the Fall 2015 Expansion The Taken King. The cabal forces have attacked the city leaving the city tower and the population defenseless. It is now up to the Guardians for reclaim the tower and protect the people. Guardians will discover Queen Mara Sov and The Exo Stranger’s motives. The story is going to culminate the city and the tower fighting back against the Cabal empire.
Guardians will face the leader of the Cabal forces is the new Raid.
Bungie is working on substantial content updates for each quarter, similar to the April update. Expansions will once again play a major role and according to the report, Bungie has a small team working on the first expansion for Destiny 2: Forge of Hope. The unnamed expansion will release in Fall 2018.
