Developers Undead Labs have once again confirmed the State of Decay 2 release date alongside another look at the game world.
Answering a question on Twitter, the official account confirmed that State of Decay 2 release date is indeed in 2017 although no fixed date was given.
The developers also shared two new pieces of art, not screenshots, from the upcoming shooter showing a street infested with zombies in day as well as night time.
The studio said:
This is a very early piece back when we were working out what a slightly more urban environment might look like, and you shouldn’t expect to see it verbatim. What you can expect to see is what we we’re really doing, which was figuring out what our colors should be under various lighting conditions.
It was rigged specifically so we could play with different levels of night and day. In fact, there are two versions of this exact piece. This one is rigged for day, and the other is rigged for night.
Announced at E3 2016, State of Decay 2 release date is some time in 2017 and hopefully more details will be revealed at E3 2017.
It is highly possible the game will release in Holiday 2017 to fill up the empty spots Microsoft has.
State of Decay 2 is currently in development for both PC and Xbox One and will feature a four-player co-op mechanic instead of being an MMO as Undead had originally hoped. The game will be using Epic’s Unreal Engine 4 to deliver an amazing post apocalyptic open world.
While the original game released on Xbox 360 was well praised, the remastered version named Year One Survival Edition for Xbox One and Windows 10 was considered pretty average.
So far, it is known that the game world will be massive compared to that of the first game and will allow players to split up instead of having to stick together for everything.
