Developer Hanger 13 has revealed the DLC plans for Mafia 3 that will include three paid story expansions.
The first of the three paid Mafia 3 story DLCs is going to be “Faster, Baby!” that will be available by the end of March. Lincoln’s story will continue in this paid expansion as he joins forces with Roxy Laveau to take down a corrupt sheriff. The devs have also promised fast cars, dramatic chases, and epic stunt driving for this expansion.
The second Mafia story DLC will be “Stones Unturned” which will launch in May. This DLC will see Lincoln reuniting with CIA agent John Donovan to settle an old feud with a new rival in town with whom the pair is familiar with from Vietnam war.
The third and the final Mafia 3 story DLC will be “Sign of Times” which will launch in July. This DLC will tell the story of ritualistic killings linked to a cult. LIncoln’s investigation “will take him from the dark heart of the old bayou to the drug-ridden counterculture of the inner city”.
These three story expansions will be part of the season pass and according to the studio, each DLC will bring focused storytelling with a compelling narrative. New gameplay mechanics, environments, and activities will also be introduced with these new expansions.
However, the devs have noted that the release windows for these expansions could potentially slip.
Mafia 3 got a lukewarm reception from critics and gamers alike but the game is the fastest-selling game in the history of 2K Games.
2K revealed that Mafia 3 is the fastest-selling game in the history of 2K Games. Not only this, the Mafia 3 surpassed the game franchises such as NBA 2K, Borderlands and Bioshock franchise.
According to the company, Mafia 3 sold and shipped more than 4.5 million units in digital and retail for its first week.
Mafia 3 is an open-world action adventure game developed by Hangar 13 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStaiton 4.
