During a recent meeting with the investors, EA has talked about Mass Effect Andromeda and its sales. According to the company, this game is set to sell 3 million copies in the first week, a very large number indeed, but EA is not worried as the game is releasing on multiple platforms.
Bioware has also stated that they could release a Project Scorpio version of Mass Effect Andromeda one day.
Because of our Spring release date, I’m not sure exactly what we’re going to be able to support at that time, but we have strong plans for Mass Effect Andromeda and we will keep supporting the game even after its release. If we do a Game of the Year edition, or a brand new edition or something like that, that’s something we’d definitely consider looking at, for sure.
However, Nintendo Switch will have third party support for games and software, but it seems that BioWare has no plans for a Switch version of Mass Effect Andromeda.
This question was addressed by Mike Gamble when talking to Stevivor:
Yeah, not right now, no. We have no plans for a Nintendo Swich version at the moment. Anyhow, if the Switch launches and everyone’s going crazy for Mass Effect, who knows. We never want to close doors like that.
Well, BioWare and Nintendo have already worked together when developing Mass Effect 3 Wii U, so there’s still hope for handheld version of Andromeda.
Mass Effect Andromeda is an action-RPG by BioWare, releasing for PS4, Xbox One and PC on March 21 in North America, while the European version will be launching on March 23.
