Just when we thought we had seen the last of the GTX 1080s the Palit GTX 1080 Dual OC Edition has been announced and it is yet another non-reference design GTX 1080 from the well-known GPU manufacturer. It is being claimed that the Palit GTX 1080 Dual OC is the most advanced GPU ever created. It is a pascal GPU so you know you will be getting some great performance. Plus you are getting a slim design and VR support as well.
The Palit GTX 1080 Dual OC has 2560 CUDA cores and a slim design. As of right now there is very little that we know about the GPU but we do know what it has the following features:
- Palit GeForce GTX 1080 own design version, provides the best C/P ratio
- OverClocked Edition
- 8GB, 10Gbps GDDR5X on board memory
- Dual Fan Design, Dual Slot Solution
- 0dB tech
- Keep Silent while you are experiencing the multimedia application and general workload.
- Honeycomb Bracket
- ThunderMaster Utility
The clock speeds, price and availability are yet to be disclosed but looking at how this is a modern pascal GTX 1080 I am sure that it will be placed amongst all the other non-reference design GTX 1080s.
I think whenever you read the word dual you think that there are two GPUs and when you read the specs and find out that there are two fans instead of two GPUs, it is a little disappointing. But then again the GTX 1080 just came out so I do not think we will be seeing a dual GPU anytime soon.
I think dual fans are pretty common now and company should stop using the world dual when selling GPUs. Just get over it, we know that GPUs have 2 or more fans nowadays you do not need to write it down for us in the name. What do you think about the Palit GTX 1080 Dual OC?
