2017 is the year of our beloved Mario, Nintendo is working on Super Mario Odyssey for Nintendo Switch and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as well. However, if you don’t own a Nintendo Switch, you can still experience a new Mario game in the form of Super Mario Run.
Nintendo released Super Mario Run for iOS and the game is currently available for £9.99. The price saw a jump from £7.99 to £9.99 due to Brexit. Nintendo might lower the price in the future but for the time being players need to pay extra.
Apple previously indicated this price change with the following statement:
When foreign exchange rates or taxation changes, we sometimes need to update prices on the App Store. Price tiers on the App Store are set internationally on the basis of several factors, including currency exchange rates, business practices, taxes and the cost of doing business. These factors vary from region to region and over time.
UK resident will feel the impact of Brexit even more in the coming months. Other games, hardware, and various foreign products will see a price hike.
Nintendo Switch may also see a price hike in the future as well as its games. Nintendo Switch is releasing on March 3 in Europe and the United States.
