The first downloadable map pack for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be releasing on January 31, and along with all of the different multiplayer maps will be a new zombie map, which comes with new environments, gimmicks, and a new Call of Duty Zombies character, played by Kevin Smith.
Smith is the director (and sometimes actor) of a number of cult classics including Clerks, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Zack and Miri Make A Porno, and more.
He’ll be the new character in the next Zombie map, “The Rave in the Redwoods“, which brings to mind nineties horror movies about teenagers in spooky summer camps.
Also included in the new map pack, known as “Sabotage“, are four new multiplayer maps. The first is “Noir”, based off of a futuristic Brooklyn that’s dull and grey much like the Noir film style, and is a three-lane map. Next is “Neon”, a virtual reality training center that digitizes cars, cover, weapons, and more. Thirdly is “Renaissance”, set in Northern Italy.
Players will be pitted against one another in the narrow streets of Venice, allowing lots of opportunities for wall-running in the canals and neighborhoods. Finally, there’s “Dominion.” A re-imagining of the map Afghan from Modern Warfare 2, the map is now set on Mars and includes a ship crashed in the center to take your mind on a nostalgia trip, along with a few adjustments to take advantage of the new gameplay.
While Kevin Smith playing the new Call of Duty Zombies character is something that 90s film buffs will probably enjoy, the new Call of Duty zombies character isn’t the only thing that players will be able to find to entertain themselves in the Sabotage DLC.
With only around a week to wait until the DLC comes out, players won’t have much longer to wait until they get to watch Kevin Smith get eaten by zombies or play on new maps.
