Xbox One Scorpio is one of the biggest highlights of 2017 that will be able to run games on 4K resolution. While gamers are excited about the console but many are also worried about the console’s price.
Time and again industry analysts have said that Microsoft would be making a big mistake if Xbox One Scorpio is priced higher than expected. Now Wedbush Securities Analyst Michael Pachter have explained that why the Scorpio’s price should not exceed the $399 mark.
According to Patcher, if Microsoft drops the price for Xbox One S to $300 by the holiday then they would have a chance to justify the $399 price tag for Xbox One Scorpio but Sony Interactive Entertainment has already laid the gauntlet with PlayStation 4 Pro price.
Patcher, further explained that Sony will play smart and they will drop the price of PlayStation 4 Pro to $349 for the holidays which will present a problem for Microsoft.
He added that the only advantage Microsoft has is that the 4K TVs are becoming what LED TVs were a few years ago. Soon, LCD TVs will start disappearing from the market and in two or three years there is going to be no reason for manufacturing 1080p displays and then maybe gamers will start buying consoles capable of 4K gaming.
He also said that the ability to use Oculus Rift with Xbox One Scorpio does not feel compelling as he would not want to buy Xbox One Scorpio and then purchase a $600 Oculus Rift headset.
Do you think Microsoft will be able to price the console reasonably while keeping the specs as is? Let us know in the comments.
