A lunar event is scheduled to commence for Overwatch next week, celebrating the Chinese New Year with jaw-dropping cosmetics for D.Va and Mei.
The official Overwatch Twitter accounts went active earlier today, releasing two short promotional videos for the lunar content. According to the announcement, celebrations for the Year of the Rooster will begin from January 24.
From the looks of it, Mei is finally getting her legendary skin which was hinted by game director Jeff Kaplan last month. As for D.Va, she is getting new themed garbs along with a full paint job for her mech.

Putting aside the two teasers, Blizzard is yet to make an official announcement that carries more details for the holiday event. Recapping the special game-types and features from previous holiday installments, it’s only logical that we’ll be seeing a similar approach for next week’s event as well.
Overwatch just got done with Winter Wonderland for the Christmas season a few weeks ago. Before that was Halloween Terror in October, and Summer Games in August. The developer has pretty much kept to a tight schedule of a seasonal event every two months. Year of the Rooster sees Blizzard breaking that cycle.
