Even with all of the information that just came out about the Nintendo Switch last week, there are still a variety of other gaming reveals and releases that are going to be coming in the next few months. Among these, now, might be the Tekken 7 release date, which has previously been secret.
According to a leaked screenshot of a product listing database, the release date for Tekken 7: Retribution, the Xbox One and Playstation 4 release of the fighting game that had previously released in arcades back in 2015, will be on May 28 of this year.
Previously, Bandai-Namco had been rather secretive on exactly when the game would release, only saying that it would come out early in 2017.
If this Tekken 7 release date leak turns out to be true, then it means that we finally don’t have very much longer to wait until we can get back into the Tekken fighting scene. Tekken 7 has previously been highly anticipated by a lot of Tekken fans, and even by a large number of Street Fighter fans, due to the game also featuring Akuma, one of the major antagonists of the Street Fighter franchise.
In addition to the Xbox One and Playstation 4 versions of the game, Tekken 7 will also be getting a PC port via Windows and Steam, though due to Bandai-Namco’s concerns about PC players cheating in cross-platform matches, PC games will not be able to use cross-platform play against Xbox One and Playstation 4 players.
However, there hasn’t been any news yet about a possible port for the Nintendo Switch (even though Ultra Street Fighter 2 is apparently going to be on the console.
If the Tekken 7 release date is actually accurate, then players can look forward to getting the game in late May, and will be able to pit all of their favorite Tekken characters against one another, or against Akuma. Either way, it all depends on if the database’s information is actually correct.
