Platinum Games: We Are “Very Disappointed” Over Scalebound Cancellation

Following the announcement of Scalebound cancellation for PC and Xbox One, Platinum Games’ president and CEO Kenichi Sato has now released an official statement.

In the press release Sato has expressed his disappointment for the cancellation of Scalebound since they know that many gamers were looking forward to the game.

We’re sorry to say that on January 9, 2017, Microsoft Studios announced the cancellation of Scalebound. We are very disappointed things ended up this way, especially since we know many of our fans were looking forward to this game as much as we were.

He added that the studio will keep on delivering quality experiences starting with NieR Automata and many other games in the future. He assured fans that the developers will keep on working hard to create quality games.

Going forward, we will strive to continue delivering high-quality games to you, starting with NieR: Automata in March, and including products like GRANBLUE FANTASY Project Re:Link and LOST ORDER in the future.

The next game from Platinum Games is NieR Automata that will launch for both PC and PlayStation 4. Fans of the action games are eagerly waiting for this game. While the game will support the PlayStation 4 Pro but will not support 4K on the upgraded console.

According to the devs, they will be utilizing the power of PlayStation 4 Pro to implement better visuals.

NieR Automata is an upcoming action RPG in development at Platinum Games and is scheduled to launch sometime in 2017 for PlayStation 4 and PC.
