Resident Evil 7 Third Person Mod Makes It More Creepy

Resident Evil has been either top down or third person for a long time. However, the latest installment, Resident Evil 7, is changing the way we play Resident Evil games. Capcom has introduced the first-person camera to Resident Evil via the 7th main installment.

It is an interesting point of view and does add to the overall immersion, especially if you play via PlayStation VR. But for long time fans like, such a camera change can be a little unsettling. It feels out of place and one wonders what it would be like to have a third person view.

Actually, we don’t have to wonder anymore because there is a mod out there that may let us play the game in third-person. By loading VHS map instead of Chapter 1, the modder managed to bring forth a third person view. It is perfect and we certainly can’t play the game this way but it does lay the foundation for a possibility.

The character model is not complete in third-person, the head is missing. The headless character model makes it really creepy to play but it would be interesting to see what can be done with the full game mod.

Resident Evil 7 third person mod needs a lot of work before we can make use of it. But it is something we need to keep a track of.

Resident Evil 7 will hit PlayStationn 4, Xbox One, and PC on January 24, 2017. Pre-orders are live in all regions so grab a copy to play the game on release day.
