Halo is one of the most popular franchises in the game industry so it comes as no surprise that Microsoft would want to expand the franchise with spin-off games. Now a footage of a canceled Halo game has emerged which was in development at developer n-Space and was based on Mega Bloks.
The gameplay video for the canceled Halo game is a prototype and was codenamed, Haggar. This prototype was found and shared by YouTuber PtoPOnline. As you can see in the video above the game was a humorous take on the Halo games with third-person perspective and kind of fun gameplay.
PtoPOnline noted in the video that the gameplay showcased is the first level of the canceled Halo Mega Blocks game and despite being a prototype the level is very polished.
Many of the popular weapons in the halo franchise were to make a comeback with this game and many vehicles would also have been available and could be customized. While the game does look interesting and fun, it is still unknown why Microsoft canceled it.
It seems this canceled game would have been a better substitute to Halo: The Master Cheif Collection since the game was almost unplayable initially. However, developer 343 Industries has resolved most of the issues with the collection but still the matchmaking issues lingers for some.
According to 343’s community manager, Brian Jarrard, developers are still considering the game and are looking to solve the issues.
I wouldn’t say the ship has totally sailed yet. Conversations are still being had, assessments are still being made, and at a minimum I hope to make good on my pledge to either give fans a legitimate status update or, barring that, face it head on and even if it’s not the news everyone wants, accept it and move forward.
