2016 has left the building and we are now a couple of days into 2017. The year is yet to officially kick-off in terms of games releases but soon we will start receiving content on consoles, PC, handheld devices.
This year, so many games are scheduled to release and we just hope that most of them don’t get pushed into 2018, delays have been the trend lately, still, fingers crossed!
Our team here at Segmentnext spends most of its time playing, talking, and writing about games (which is the primary reason why most of us are single and we also have a 40-year-old virgin among us).
This year we are eagerly looking forward to a number of different games depending on our tastes. Below are the games our team members have picked as their most anticipated titles for 2017.
Our Most Anticipated Games of 2017
Taimoor Masood – Communications Manager (Has a Massive Dota 2 Fetish)
Well…I spend most of the time playing Dota 2 and COD 4 with my gang. Those two games are pretty much all I do in my free time. I recently picked up Limbo, a very touching experience. There aren’t many games that interest me this year but if I had to pick one, I would say Red Dead Redemption 2. If I am going to spend money on an AAA game this year than it has to be from Rockstar.
Ahmad Hassan – News Reporter (Won a Medal after completing Ride to Hell: Retribution)
I lost faith in EA after what they did to Need for Speed, Battlefield Hardline, Sims. However, after seeing how they handled Battlefield 1 and gave DICE complete freedom with Mirror’s Edge, it seems the company is on its way to redemption. My most anticipated game is an EA title from Bioware, Mass Effect: Andromeda. I was fortunate enough to have a look at the game recently and I personally think it is going to be the best Mass Effect to date so I’m more than excited for it.
Arslan Tufail – Senior Guides Editor (In Love With All Things From Software)
Anything that comes out of From Software is my most anticipated game. They are planning to launch a game this year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation VR. Whatever it is, I’m all in! Can’t wait for E3 2017.
Ali Asif – Editor-in-Chief (Likes Devilian for Some Reason)
Admittedly, 2016 has been a disappointing year for quality exclusives. Nothing outside of Forza Horizon 3 managed to really raise the bar there. Gears 4, The Last Guardian, Quantum Break, even though they were great games but they felt mediocre. 2017 is comparatively more exciting for consoles as we have Red Dead, Horizon Zero Dawn, and the one I’m looking forward to the most, Scalebound!
Zawad Iftikhar – Editorial Director (Preys on Noob Souls in Overwatch)
I would love to sit back, relax, and roam the seas in Sea of Thieves this year.
Sikandar Mahmood – Senior News Editor (Kojima is God)
It is hard to pick just one; Even though I have been disappointed by Ubisoft on a number of occasions but still I think Ghost Recon: Wildlands may restore my faith in the company again.
