A new Injustice 2 Supergirl video has been released by IGN, showing off some of the moves and abilities of the distaff counterpart of Superman in the latest video we’ve seen that shows off a member of the Injustice 2 roster. Previously Supergirl had been shown in other videos, though here she’s the star focus.
Previously, Supergirl (or Kara Zor-El as her birth Kryptonian name) had only made small appearances in the game’s promotional videos, fighting various characters such as the Red Lantern Atrocitus or Gorilla Grodd. However, the Injustice 2 Supergirl video actually gives her the spotlight, and she uses it to its full potential.
According to developer NetherRealm, Supergirl is different from Superman not just in gender and body dimensions but also her playstyle. Supergirl, being not as muscular as Superman, relies more on her speed and her long-distance abilities to fight her enemies, though she’s also got a few tricks up her sleeves to help her take on enemies up close.
In the video, Supergirl pits herself against two notable villains in the DC universe, along with one hero. She starts out against Deadshot, then clashes against Black Manta (then freezes him solid and kicks him) and then shows off the majority of her abilities fighting against Wonder Woman.
We get to see her ice breath, her heat vision, a number of her physical moves (including a move where she grabs the enemy, flies upward, then slams them back down into the ground), and her super.
In her super, Supergirl grabs her opponent, flies up into space, slingshots around the sun, then throws her enemy like a baseball, finishing the attack by blasting the opponent through an asteroid with her heat vision.
You can find the Injustice 2 Supergirl video further up in this article, and will be able to play her in the game when it comes out next year.
