Ace Combat is one of the longest running game franchises in the game industry and the series is making a comeback of sorts with Ace Combat 7. PlayStation 4 Pro is available in the market and many are wondering that how this game will be taking the advantage of the upgraded console.
Speaking with GamingBolt, Producer Kazutoki Kono said that the development team is still figuring out what PlayStation 4 Pro can do.
Some of the limitations I mentioned earlier during this interview (about maintaining balance between visual quality and frame rate in VR mode) that is an area that the PS4 Pro capacity can assist us with exploring in terms of forms of expression, of how we can put the player into this world.
When asked about if Ace Combat 7 will support native 4K on PlayStation 4 Pro, to this he responded that it is still up for discussion as there are a lot of things to consider.
I think that’s still kind of up for discussion right now. We really just got to service on what PS4 Pro can do and how we can optimize it at best of the GPU is still – our team is working on that. So whether it’s resolution or frame rate or just simple details of the models, however we decide to optimize and improve that we definitely want to explore that. I can’t say right now though.
Recently, the developers also revealed some new details about the game like its timeline and how the game will feel. According to the developers, Ace Combat 7 will take place 10 years after the events of Ace Combat 5. Also, the game will be much closer to Ace Combat 5 is terms of visuals and will feel like Ace Combat 4.
Ace Combat 7 is an action combat flight game in development at Project Aces and will launch sometime in 2017 exclusively for PlayStation 4.
