It took 10 years for Square Enix to bring the Final Fantasy XV to the fans and it was worth the wait as the game is just awesome. Final Fantasy XV sales were 5 million in the west on the first day of its launch and 700,000 copies in Japan.

The overwhelming majority of sales is overseas. It’s as expected since the hardware installed base is bigger overseas. The numbers in Japan are quite good considering the present situation of the Japanese game market.
He was also asked the reason behind releasing the game simultaneously worldwide, to this he responded that it was something that he thought from the beginning of the development and part of the reason that Final Fantasy XV generated so much hype was because of the simultaneous worldwide release.
