Do the updates really fix games? Well, looks like Rise of The Tomb Raider’s updates fix one thing and breaks the other. Update 1.06 of Rise of The Tomb Raider was aimed at frame rate stability and improvement in smooth gameplay experience, sadly, it brought back the input lag bug; although with much less occurrence than before, which update 1.05 fixed previously.
Rise of The Tomb Raider looks spectacular and beautiful in PlayStation 4 Pro with stunning 4K visuals and HDR support. The comparison gap of graphics fidelity is very wide from base PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 4 Pro.
The game received update initially which then used full hardware capacity of PS4 Pro giving out 4K visuals on 4K supported Television. But, later on, in the lineup of updates, the worst problem happens which feels awful in an action game: input lag.
Input lag in an action game is a considerable let down for the players, considering the combat, fast paced situations, one gets frustrated when you press a button for an action to happen, but, it happens with a certain time delay. That’s input delay my friend. Previously, the bug was removed when Crystal Dynamics patched the game in update 1.05, but, users at Reddit continuously bashed update 1.06 for bringing back the input lag. Clearly, Crystal Dynamics need some serious effort here to impress fans of PlayStation 4 Pro.
Rise of The Tomb Raider was released initially on November 10, 2015 for Xbox One as a timed exclusive title. A year later the full version of the game called Rise of The Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration launched on October 11, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and PC, containing all the DLCs ever released in one single purchase.
Currently, to play Rise of The Tomb Raider with full graphics capacity and maxed out resolution you need a powerful PC or PlayStation 4 Pro. Sadly, PS4 Pro version is bit broken and Crystal Dynamics need to address the issue right away.
